Notice to Debit Card Customers

In an effort to control the rising number of fraudulent transactions on our debit cards, County First Bank is now blocking “credit” transactions in many states.

The block covers all states except MD, VA, DC, PA, WV, DE, NC and SC, and is for transactions over $25.00, excluding online transactions.

In states where there is a block, customers will be required to complete their transactions as debit (or PIN-required) transactions and not as credit (or signature-required) transactions.

In addition, the block covers only specific merchant types–Supermarkets, Family Clothing and Department Stores, and Service Stations (inside store only, EXCLUDES PAY AT THE PUMP).

If you plan on making any purchases outside of the excluded states listed above, and you are asked “debit or credit”, choose debit and use your PIN.
