County First Bank proudly sponsored its 22nd annual George B. Morris Art Show on November 14, 2012 at Mary B. Neale Elementary School in Waldorf. This event highlights the artistic talents of third and fourth graders in the Charles County Elementary Schools. Participating schools and winners receive monetary awards to further enhance the schools’ art departments. Additionally, budding young artists have an opportunity to showcase their creativity amongst their peers, parents, teachers, administrators and the community.
Over a dozen County First employees volunteered their time and talents in coordinating, organizing, judging, set up, hosting and greeting young artists, teachers, and their families. Twenty-three public and private schools participated. This year’s theme was “Life in Southern Maryland”. Grand Prize and Show Prize winning schools were: Daniel of St. Thomas Jenifer Elementary, Mary B. Neal Elementary, Walter J. Mitchell Elementary and Dr. James Craik Elementary.
